After working in Bitmaps for an entire week, I can say that my opinion on them has changed for the better. The images i have been working in Photoshop have come out looking clean and realistic. Once I got use to the tools in Photoshop I found almost as easy to use than Adobe Illustrator , but there are somethings in Photoshop that I still have trouble with and I hope I can get better. I may still prefer vectors over bitmaps, but my opinion of bitmaps is only getting better.
I personally enjoy working in vectors over bitmaps, due to the fact i find them much easier to use. The images made in vectors may not look as realistic as in bitmaps, but i find them more enjoyable due to the fact that you can learn the basics of vector faster than bitmaps. Vectors are not with out there flaws though, for instance in Adobe Illustrator, I find it difficult to use the gradient tool create triangles if you did not know you can use the shape tool by clicking on the art board and creating a custom shape. As for the real life applications for vector programs, they could be used logo creation, sprite designs, and many other things making them a versatile tool.
