My impression of the Unity game engine is that it seems mostly user friendly if you can learn the basics of the tools and layout. The layout of unity reminds me of Unreal Engine which is something I find helpful do to the fact that I have more experience there than in Unity so far. The thing in Unity I would say I look forward to the most is learning how to code in C#. Coding is something I have always wanted to learn and Unity is forcing me to learn how so that I can make an awesome game .
The year so far in Game design has helped expand my knowledge of designing actual games, but also the public side of releasing a game to the market. Some of the most important concepts introduced to me this year were how the ESRB classify games based on different aspects of the game's content, and also the creation of GDDs (Game Design Documents) that can convey the major aspects of a game without being the size of a novel. By learning about the restraints that games have for a certain target audience I learned how stay within my target audience, yet keep the main idea of a game from being changed. If there was one thing I could change about the curriculum it would be the unnecessarily large amount of time learning about ancient games.
