Destiny 2 is in many ways similar to the first game, but the introduction of new mechanics in the game allow for a new experience in the Destiny series. Starting with the the story, Destiny 2 is about your character, one of the many guardians in the story, rallying together the vanguards, or leaders, of the different classes, warlock, titan, and hunter, together to stop the Red Legion and their leader Dominus Ghaul, a Cabal warlord, who wants to steal the power of the Traveler. In comparison to the first Destiny game, where the story of the game was not truly explored until the release of the game's expansions, Destiny 2 throws you right into the story from the moment you start the game. Although I have not explored much of the PvP side of the game, from the little I have played there has only been some mild connectivity issues.Overall I am excited to see where Bungie takes Destiny 2 as they release the expansions of the game and update it in general.
This past week in game design, we were introduced to the concept of game theory. Game theory is a branch f mathematics, focusing on outcomes and how one reaches said outcomes. Understanding game theory is important for game designers, because by applying game theory while creating a game, a designer can improve the flow of their game by knowing all the paths to one particular outcome. Comprehension of game theory is essential to creating balanced games, that are both challenging and enjoyable.
